20th Anniversary Appeal
The Rosemere Cancer Centre will be 20 years old this year! To celebrate that milestone, the Rosemere Cancer Foundation launched its 20th Anniversary Appeal on 1st March to raise £1.5m for 3 ground breaking projects that will benefit patients from throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria.
The Rosemere Cancer Centre, based at Royal Preston Hospital, first opened its doors to deliver Radiotherapy to the region in 1997 and with the support of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, now delivers a world class cancer service to thousands of people each year.
Our 20th Anniversary Appeal aims to raise funds for 3 projects that will fit the Centre for the future and make a real difference to patients:
A DaVinci Xi Robotic Surgical System
The highest specification of surgical robot and the
first of its kind in the North of England to support the work of our surgeons in hard to reach, complex pelvic surgical procedures, particularly for gastrointestinal, bowel and gynaecological cancers.
A Cancer Ward for the Future
Redevelopment of the Ribblesdale Cancer Ward to provide more flexible space better suited to patients needs and offer more comfortable and relaxed private areas for relatives wishing to stay close to loved ones, including drink and snack making facilities.
A State of the Art Cancer Research Facility
An on-site laboratory and pharmacy, equipped to the highest standard, to facilitate clinical trials and help develop the treatment of tomorrow today.
