Porsches Park Up At Hoghton Tower

Nearly 50 Porsches set off from Garstang Country Club on Sunday morning in glorious sunshine on the 'Red Rose Run' organised by the Lancashire region of the Porsche Club.

The cars were waved off by the Mayor of Garstang and the first part of the route took them through the streets of Garstang where lots of onlookers had turned out to see these magnificent cars. The route then continued into the Ribble Valley taking in the scenery at its best. After passing through Clitheroe the Porsches headed to Hoghton Tower, between Blackburn and Chorley, where members of the Porsche Club were welcomed, many enjoying a picnic lunch and  finding some shade under the trees.

Many members took advantage of a splendid tour through the buiilding, with lots of historical information about the family and the buildings.

Afterwards presentations were made back at Garstang where an evening meal was served and presentations made. There was no charge for entry but participants were invited to make a donation to Rosemere. £717 was raised.

Thanks to all who took part in this event and also to the staff of Hoghton Tower for their hospitality.

Family Fun at 999 Fun Day

Brownies at 999 day Saturday 7th July brought everybody together for this years 999 Family Fun Day in partnership with Darwen Market and Lancashire Constabulary on Darwen Market Square.

Plenty of fun was had by everybody that came along to see the Police Car, Ambulance, Mountain Rescue Team, North West Blood Bikes and Fire Service.  There was also a face painter, fair ground ride, the British Legion and our Rosemere stalls with a tombola and various fun 50p games led by our volunteers and Brownies from St Cuthbert's and Hollins Grove.

We raised a fabulous £330.31!! Thank you to everybody involved in bringing such a wonderful event together.

Race Raises Readies for Rosemere

Cartmel Racecourse kindly chose Rosemere as its charity partner for its 2018 Spring Bank Holiday meeting. A team of Rosemere volunteers and staff took to the course where we had a charity stand featuring a bottle tombola and also undertook a bucket collection which raised a fantastic total of £1,530.19. Thank you to everyone who kindly donated and supported us. We look forward to hopefully attending again in 2019!

Lucks in for Rosemere at Oswaldtwistle Carnival

Luck was in at this year’s Oswaldtwistle Carnival as a volunteer staffed stand offered carnival goers the opportunity to chance their luck on a tombola and spin the wheel game, which raised £95.25 for the charity.  This was the first year Rosemere has been at the Carnival, thank you to the organisers for giving us the opportunity and thank you to volunteers Bob and Trudy Tuffnell who manned the stall for the day.
