A weekend of collections!

Last week was a busy week in East Lancashire with several store collections. We were in Tesco in Burnley, Morrisons in Blackburn & Matalan in Blackburn. Thank you to all our volunteers who helped make this possible and to everyone who stopped to chat and donate their spare change. In total we raised a whopping £1049.41!

Bob and Trudy get into the swing for Rosemere!

Clayton-le-Moors couple Bob and Trudy Tuffnell got into the swing for Rosemere by organising and hosting a 60s night for our 20 Years Anniversary Appeal at Brooks Club, Accrington.  As well as a disco, guests enjoyed a light supper and took part in a raffle, which helped the event raise a wonderful  £202.28.  Bob and Trudy have organised raffles, tombolas and car boot sales and they regularly help with supermarket collections.  This is the two of them volunteering at Chipping Steam Fair for us in May!

Charity gardens a blooming success!

We are delighted that  a number of people this year decided to open their gardens to the public to raise funds for us! We were the chosen charity for Forest Way Open Garden in Leyland and Fulwood Open Gardens, and one of the chosen charities for Penwortham Open Gardens. The owners put on raffles, refreshments and plant sales to raise funds, as well as donating money from the ticket sales, and in total the three events raised over £4000 for us! Blooming marvellous!
