Cross Bay Walk 2023
29th July 2023
Our popular Cross Bay Walk is back!
This year, we are taking on our annual trek across Morecambe Bay on Saturday, 29th July, setting off promptly at 2.30pm.
Would you like to join us for this iconic charity challenge?
Always a great event whatever the weather, the route from Arnside to Grange with King’s Guide Michael Wilson via the scenic sands, streams and grassy shores of Morecambe Bay is approximately seven miles long, subject to the conditions on the day. It may involve some wading through deep water, and the terrain can be rough, so unfortunately it’s not suitable for those with limited mobility, wheelchairs or pushchairs, or very small children – we recommend a minimum age of eight for children taking part.
Entries cost £15 for adults or £10 for under 16s (or an additional £6 if you’d like to order a Rosemere t-shirt) and we’d love our walkers to raise as much as they can in sponsorship for Rosemere, to help us continue to support local cancer care across Lancashire and the South Lakes.
There will be coaches available to transfer walkers who wish to park at Grange Station to the starting point at Arnside. They will leave Grange at 1.15 prompt. Places on the coaches cost £5.00 per person, and MUST be booked in advance if you’d like one – you’ll be sent a link to do this once you’ve booked onto the event. Well behaved dogs are welcome! Please be aware, there is no return coach.
Please note – due to RMT Strike action, the normal train service between Arnside and Grange (which walkers often use to return to Arnside to their cars after the walk, or to get themselves to the start line) will not be running on the day of our Cross Bay Walk. We recommend that you book a place on our coach, or seek alternative arrangements on the day.
