Walk in the Dark 2024
27th April 2024
Our Walk in the Dark is back for 2024!
This year’s Walk in the Dark, our annual night-time charity trek from Chorley Hospital to Royal Preston, will take place on Saturday April 27th. Do you fancy joining us? It’s just £15 per person, and under-12s can walk with you for free.
Setting off at 8.15pm, the (approximately 11 mile long) route is signposted and marshalled, and there are medals and well deserved refreshments for all walkers too! Plus, there’s a fab warm-up and entertainment on the night from Zumba with Jaime and The Inbetweeners Ukulele Band, to spur you on.
It’s £15 to take part, and all funds raised will help support life-changing projects for the benefit of local cancer patients, wherever they are cared for across the region.
The money raised make a real difference, so we’d love it if you could use your part in the walk as a fundraising opportunity too. You can download sponsor forms here (or you can contact the charity office for one and we’ll post one out!) or you can set up an online donation page here on Just Giving.
You can walk in support, in celebration, or in memory of loved ones, you can treat the walk as a fun challenge, or simply as a social activity. It’s completely up to you! All that matters is that you take part and help us raise these crucial funds – you can even bring the dog!
We also love to see our walkers lighting up the dark, so feel free to dress as brightly as you like, or come along in fancy dress! There will even be face painting available at Chorley, and glow-in-the-dark accessories for sale too. Our fundraising team and fab volunteers will be there on the night from 7pm.
There will also be a free-of-charge bus service running from Preston Hospital, to take people to the start line at Chorley. Please note that if you wish to use this service, it MUST be booked in advance here, and if you are parking onsite at either Chorley or Preston Hospitals, you must provide us with your car registration number in advance, to ensure that you are not charged for parking.
We’d like to give a huge thank you to the Eric Wright Group for the continued support of this event; their kind sponsorship covers the event costs, meaning that as much raised as possible through the event itself can come to support local, life-changing cancer projects.
If you have any queries at all, please call the charity office on 01772 522 913, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
