We are delighted to announce that registration for our 2022 Cross Bay Walk is now open!
Do you fancy joining us on this iconic trek (or occasionally, wade) across the stunning sands of Morecambe Bay, to raise much needed funds for life-changing cancer projects across the region?

It's always a fantastic event, whatever the weather. This year, we'll be leaving Arnside Pier bright and early (9.10am!) on Sunday the 5th of June to take on the scenic 7-8 miles across the sands all the way to Grange, led by Queen's Guide Michael Wilson. The walk normally takes 3-4 hours to complete, subject to conditions on the day
Unfortunately due to the nature of the terrain, which is wet, sandy, and sometimes rocky, this event is not suitable for those with limited mobility, wheelchairs or pushchairs, or very small children - because of this, our registration is open to children from the age of eight and upwards only.
Entries cost £15 for adults or £10 for under 16s, and you can add a Rosemere t-shirt to wear on the day if you like, for an additional £5. Dogs are welcome to come with you too, as long as they are capable of walking the distance, you keep them under control, and clean up any mess!
We’d also love our walkers to raise as much as they can in sponsorship for Rosemere, to help increase the amount raised to support local cancer care. (To download a Rosemere sponsorship form, to help you collect your much-appreciated sponsorship money for your challenge, please click here! Alternatively, you can set up an online donation page through a platform such as Just Giving, or even set up a Facebook fundraiser)

Practical information about the event...
- There will be coaches available to transfer walkers who wish to park at Grange Station to the starting point at Arnside - this way, you'll be walking back towards your car. Places on the coaches cost £4.00 per person, and MUST be booked in advance if you'd like one - you'll be sent a link to do this once you've booked onto the event.
- Parking in Arnside is available (although limited) and walkers who park there will need to get themselves back to Arnside after the walk - there is a train service, and timetables can be found online.
- You'll need to make sure you prepare for the elements, as there is no shelter or place to stop whilst crossing the Bay - we advise you to bring water, warm clothing, sensible footwear (that you don't mind getting wet or muddy, as some parts of the walk are often more of a wade!), a cap, and sunscreen.
If you have any queries about our Cross Bay Walk at all, please don't hesitate to contact the Fundraising Team on 01772 522 913, or Rosemere@lthtr.nhs.uk.
