We were overjoyed to receive a fantastic donation from Bolton-based Box Power

When Corin and Tricia Dalby's son, Benjamin, was diagnosed with autism in 2012, the family were so overwhelmed with the help they received from local support networks, organisations, and the local community that they felt inspired to give back.

They'd sold their energy brokerage company to a PLC, and the pair created Bolton-based energy consultancy firm Box Power in 2014. It has the heartwarming accolade of being a truly philanthropic company - the social enterprise donates its profits to good causes!

In June this year, the not-for-profit consultancy opened up applications for funding to local charities - and last month, the company announced that it was donating a staggering £800,000 to be split between 24 causes of different sizes, scopes and services across the North West, to ensure that the money would have the biggest positive impact possible.

Box Power donation We were delighted to hear that our grant application for funding had been accepted, and Chief Officer Dan, and Trusts & Grants Fundraiser Rebecca, attended Brookfield Hall in Westhoughton to receive the donation. The gift turned out to be double what we'd expected - it came to an incredible sum of £31,504!

This fantastic amount will go to support our ongoing Late Effects Pelvic Radiation Disease Clinic at the Cancer Centre here at Royal Preston, to ensure that it can continue to treat former oncology patients left with uncomfortable, stressful, or painful symptoms following intensive radiotherapy treatment to the pelvic area. (You can read more about this project here)

Thank you so much to Box Power for this amazingly generous donation - it will make such a difference for cancer patients across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
