Burnley Chemotherapy Unit Opens its Doors

Burnley Chemo Unit Rosemere supporters who worked hard to raise £112,000 for the Rosemere Burnley Chemo Unit Appeal last year got the chance to see just how the funds had been spent when the Primrose Unit  opened last week in the Edith Watson Building at Burnley General Hospital.

Burnley Chemo Unit Rosemere’s funds were used to provide a sensory room, an attractive and comfortable waiting area and screens in the main treatment room to give patients more privacy.  The suite also includes a new state of the art Breast Cancer Clinic.

Patients will begin treatment in this amazing facility on Monday 18th December in an environment that is a world away from the previous facilities available. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the appeal, you have made a huge difference for many years to come for local cancer patients.

Warriors Pay A Visit

A huge thanks to the Wigan Warriors and their players for visiting the Ribblesdale Ward here at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust last Wednesday.

Rosemere supporters Michael Brakewell and his daughter Helen Duchamp organised for the players to visit patients on the ward and hand out early Christmas gifts and treats. These included boxes of chocolates from Beech's Fine Chocolates Ltd in Preston, mince pies from Glovers bakery, Preston & Cupcakes from Finch Bakery in Great Harwood. Thank you to everyone involved, the patients and staff were thrilled with their visit!!
