It was another exciting day for the fundraising team on Thursday 17th January as we launched our 'Rosemere Cancer Assessment Unit Appeal' over at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. We need to raise £100,000 to support the provision of this amazing facility that will make a huge difference for local oncology patients on the Fylde Coast. To find out more about the project download the Appeal leaflet .
As part of our Blackpool Appeal launch yesterday Granada Reports visited one of our supporters and a former patient Paul Thompson. Paul raised an amazing total of £2105 in 2018 by completing four half marathons following treatment. Paul lives on the Fylde Coast and would have benefited from the 'Cancer Assessment Unit' the appeal will fund as he experienced severe side effects following his first session of Chemotherapy. These side effects could have been dealt with quickly by an assessment unit enabling him to recover quickly without a visit to A&E or an admission to hospital. Watch the short clip to find out more about Paul's story. He's an inspirational guy, so why not follow in his footsteps and take on a challenge for Rosemere to support the appeal.
The appeal has hit the ground running thanks to the support of two generous local companies Beaverbrooks the Jewellers and Adcroft Hilton Ltd. We look forward to working with them as the appeal progresses and thank them for their support which will help us reach our £100,000 target much quicker.
If you would like to support the appeal whether as an individual, family, school, community group or local business we would love to hear from you. Contact us on 01772 522913 or email rebecca.hall2@lthtr.nhs.uk
